“Get ready to go beyond the curriculum. Get ready to experience homeschooling!”

Audrey

Who am I?

Audrey B. Johnson

My educational background includes a B.S. with Honors (Cornell University), William F. Dreer Award (one year study abroad studying horticultural therapy in London, England), a M.S. (Temple University), and teacher certification.

My employment history includes being a special education teacher (8 years), learning center tutor (3 years), summer camp director, substitute teacher, private tutor, homeschool science teacher, and Outschool science teacher.

We homeschooled our three children for over 30 years from their preschool years through high school graduation. Our reasons for homeschooling included teaching our children Christian values, incorporating an African-American perspective, and engaging in an abundance of enrichment experiences. Going beyond the curriculum was always a part of my teaching plans.

Homeschool Evaluator

I began providing homeschool evaluations in 2009 when our oldest was in high school.

I am listed with Pennsylvania Homeschoolers Accreditation Agency, Mason Dixon Homeschoolers Association, and Erie County Home Schoolers Association. I can evaluate elementary, secondary, and special needs students.

In August of 2021, I organized and hosted a virtual webinar for new and returning homeschoolers. Presentations were made by representatives from Pennsylvania Homeschoolers Accreditation Agency, Mason Dixon Homeschool Association, and the School District of Philadelphia's Homeschool liaison. Veteran homeschool parents shared their expertise.

In March of 2022 and March 2023, I was one of the featured speakers for the Pennsylvania Homeschool Accreditation Agency's High School at Home virtual conference.

“How to Start Homeschooling”, an online course, was launched in August 2022.

On May 14, 2024, I was nominated to serve on the board of the Pennsylvania Homeschoolers Accreditation Agency. We exist to provide diplomas to graduates of Pennsylvania home education programs.

I was invited to participate in the BuxMont Homeschool Conference on May 25, 2024 as a panelist with other moms to answer some basic questions, give encouragement to families starting out, and show the wide array of what homeschooling can look like. I was also given a table to share details about my services as a evaluator and as a science teacher.

On November 7, 2024, I was a speaker at Cairn University’s Homeschool Conference. I encouraged families to acknowledge their “Call, Conviction, and Commitment to Homeschooling”. I was given the privilege of sharing how Experience Homeschooling could serve them.

Our Children

Our oldest graduated with a B.S. in Meteorology (Cornell University). Our middle daughter graduated with a B.A. in Fashion Design and Merchandising (Albright College) and a M.S. in Fashion Business (LIM College of Fashion). Our youngest graduated with a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology (New York Institute of Technology) and a M.S. in Data Science (New York Institute of Technology).

Testimonial

This course is so thoroughly put together. As a Homeschool mother of 5 children, I wish a this was available at the beginning of my homeschooling journey 14 years ago.

This course is a timesaver as well as life saver. It's a "one stop shop" for all the pertinent information required to Homeschool.
