How can the Homeschooling Family and the Homeschool Evaluator provide the best homeschooling experience for the students?
1. Provide a homeschool program that shows evidence that an appropriate education is occurring.
"Appropriate education" shall mean a program consisting of instruction in the required subjects for the time required in this act and in which the student demonstrates sustained progress in the overall program.
2. Special Needs Pre-Approval students: Provide the evaluator with written objectives in all areas of study for the upcoming year. They should be presented before you begin homeschooling your special needs student and before you submit your affidavit.
3. Provide a portfolio that includes a log of days, test results for 3rd, 5th, or 8th grade, samples of the child's schoolwork, reading log, list of curricula used, extracurricular activities, and field trip record.
4. Provide documentation as outlined in digital Student Portfolio, Homeschool Samples, and additional files as required.
5. Provide payment for services rendered according to the fee schedule prior to the day of the evaluation.
6. Contact the evaluator at any time during the year with questions and concerns.
1. Provide information and guidance on compliance to the home school law.
2. Provide review of the student objectives each year.
3. Provide an opportunity to schedule a yearly homeschool evaluation.
4. Provide feedback on the educational program based on the portfolio and interview.
